FLINT – We’ve got 18 candidates for your consideration as Flint-area Athlete of the Week for May 22-27.

The poll will remain open until 9 a.m. June 2 and we’ll publish the results shortly afternoon.

No prize will be awarded to the winner and voting will have no impact on postseason awards.

You MUST vote on the poll below for your vote to count.

Here are the candidates presented in alphabetical order.

Stream MHSAA action on NFHS

Kayla Blumenschein, Grand Blanc softball

Blumenschein homered in the first game of a sweep over Clarkston and was the winning pitcher in the nightcap, when she allowed six hits, walked one and struck out eight.

Norah Bradley, Davison softball

Bradley had five hits that included a home run as well as five RBIs in a doubleheader loss to Linden.

Tyler Brody, Grand Blanc golf

Brody was the co-medalist in the Grand Blanc/OLSM/Top 50 tournament by shooting 70 at Spring Meadows.

Taylor Carlson, Durand track

Carlson won the 100, 200 and long jump in the girls portion of the Mid-Michigan Activities Conference meet.

Molly Charboneau, Holly softball

Charboneau had five hits that included two doubles and two triples in addition to knocking in three runs and scoring four in a doubleheader against Ithaca.

Danica Dwyer, Owosso softball

Dwyer was the winning pitcher in the first game and picked up the save in the second game of a 5-1, 8-7 sweep of New Lothrop.

A.J. Gasper, Flushing golf

Gasper was the medalist with a score of 72 in the Flint Metro League tournament.

Connor Hovis, Durand golf

Hovis shot 90 and was the medalist in leading Durand to the Mid-Michigan Activities Conference tournament championship.

Chace Hunt, Grand Blanc baseball

Hunt had three hits in the first game of a doubleheader split with Bay City Central.

Brayden Jones, Flushing baseball

Jones had two hits in each game of a doubleheader split with Brighton.

Ty Kuhlmann, New Lothrop baseball

Kuhlmann had five hits in a doubleheader split with Durand. He stole five bases in the nightcap and also had seven hits in a doubleheader sweep of Byron, stealing three bases in the second game.

Kendall Murdock, Holly track

Murdock set a school record with a time of 21.8 while finishing third in the 200 at the Oakland Country Track and Field Championships.

Allison Shelton, Ortonville Brandon track

Shelton won the pole vault with a leap of 11-6 in the Oakland Country Track and Field Championships.

Nikolas Shilling, Ortonville Brandon track

Shilling won the 800 in the Oakland Country Track and Field Championships.

Tessa Slogor, Flushing soccer

Slogor scored the game’s only goal in a 1-0 Division 1 district victory over Davison.

Zoe Swank, LakeVille softball

Swank had two hits in each game of a doubleheader sweep over Brown City and was the winning pitcher in the opener, when she struck out 11.

DeAndre Westfall-Barger, Grand Blanc track

Westfall-Barger won the 110 hurdles and was on the first-place 1,600 relay team in the Saginaw Valley League meet.

Morgan Wilcox, Lapeer soccer

Wilcox scored twice in a 4-3 overtime loss to Oxford in a Division 1 district game.
