Sulphur resident grateful for help, optimistic of town's future following devastating EF3 tornado
SULPHUR, Okla. — Two weeks after a deadly EF3 tornado, the small town of Sulphur is slowly picking up the pieces, with the road to recovery just beginning for its residents. "Absolute dismay. How much damage and how much history was lost in the blink of an eye," Sulphur resident Jason Pontious said.
Isolated severe storms possible this afternoon
Big supercells in north Texas will try to spread into southern Oklahoma Thursday afternoon and early evening. As they move across the Red River, they will tend to weaken. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is out for southern Oklahoma until 7PM. This includes Sulphur and Marietta, areas hit hard by tornadoes this year already.

Storm Recovery Efforts Continue
Storm recovery efforts are continuing in Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management says the state has submitted a request for FEMA assistance for Pontotoc and Osage counties. Four people in Oklahoma have died in severe storms since April 25th, including one person following a tornado in Barnsdall earlier this week.
