FISHERS, Ind. — Indiana State Police are investigating a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a pick-up truck on Interstate 69 near 96th Street that left two people severely injured.
ISP said troopers were called just before 4 p.m. to the area for a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a pick-up truck. Upon arrival, troopers found two adults with severe injuries, one of whom was unconscious, lying in the roadway.
Life-saving medical aid was given to the two adults, ISP said, and they were then taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
A preliminary investigation into the crash, ISP said, shows that a white pickup truck had slowed down due to stopping traffic and that a motorcycle crashed into the back of the truck, ejecting both occupants of the bike.
Both the driver and the passenger of the motorcycle, who were both injured, were wearing helmets. ISP said that the driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the crash caused three right lanes on I-69 southbound to be blocked between 106th and 96th Street for around 3 hours.
