For over 25 years, members of the Columbia Township have gathered together for their annual chicken dinner in what is now known as the Columbia Township Community Center. The center, which is the former Columbia School, is the only Fayette County country school in existence with its doors still open after 95 years in the same location. The brick school building was converted into a Community Center in September of 1995.

The Tourism kiosk north of the Courthouse has a new coat of paint, new signage, maps, and free brochures for locals and visitors. This was a project meat to beautify a space downtown and also serve as a one stop shop for anything to do with tourism in Fayette County.
