ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Two Farmington men were accused of animal cruelty after two dogs were found malnourished and tied to a tree, according to the Ontario County Humane Society.

On the morning of April 5, deputies and members of the Humane Society found a male Northern Inuit and a female Alaskan Husky tied up to the tree on Wood Drive. The dogs were secured with short leashes and were standing in six inches of water and an inch of snow in 30-degree weather.

The dogs were freed and taken to the shelter. They were underweight and were being treated for malnutrition. They will be placed for adoption in the near future.

Investigators said the dogs were microchipped and were traced back to 38-year-old Christopher Clawson. It was alleged that Clawson and 31-year-old Zachary Guidarelli were trying to solicit people to take the dogs before tying them to the tree and leaving them.

Clawson and Guidarelli were charged with two counts of animal abandonment and two counts of animal cruelty. They were issued appearance tickets and will appear in the Town of Farmington Court at a later date.
