LEWISTON, ID - A 49-year-old Lewiston man who was convicted of trafficking nearly two pounds of methamphetamine was sentenced today in Nez Perce County Second District Court. Judge Michelle Evans ordered that Nickolas Jacobson be held for 10 years before he is eligible for parole and he must pay a $25,000 fine. He was found guilty by a jury following a two-day trial in September.

On Friday night, at 8:17 p.m., the Orange Police Department and the Orange Fire Department responded to reports of a traffic collision in the 700 block of N. Shattuck Place. A Ford F-250 was traveling south on Shattuck and veered into a parked Chevy Silverado. Two pedestrians, male adults from Orange, were standing near the Chevy and were struck by the Ford. Aurora City Council member Danielle Jurinsky said Monday that Denver Mayor Mike Johnston is bussing migrants into Aurora and buying them hotel rooms. Jurinsky made the revelation toward the end of the meeting during council report period. “I have a report that I would like to bring to the people of Aurora,” Jurinsky said. She went on to explain how Denver, a so-called sanctuary city, is bussing migrants out of its boundaries and into Aurora. She said one of her employees who was living at the Quality Inn at Mississippi and Abilene was tossed onto the street because of the incoming migrants. Jurinsky alleged the contract with the hotel doesn’t even have Denver City Council approval yet. She said the mayor must have thought this would fly under the radar. “Little did they ever think there would be an employee of a sitting council member” displaced. She called her employees “hard-working American citizens.” She said her employee and his husband lived at the hotel with their service animal for about a year.
