FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Fairmont State (6-1) acrobatics & tumbling team defeated East Stroudsburg (1-4) 268.815-238.610 on senior day inside Joe Retton Arena in Fairmont, W.Va.

The Fighting Falcons started strong from the jump and won the Compulsory event, 37.40-33.50. The pyramid heat team and the toss heat team both scored a 9.75 out of 10.00 possible points to help Fairmont State gain an early lead. In the Acro event, the seven element team led by seniors
Sophia Del Greco and
Peyton Barnes scored a 9.70 to conclude the event. The Fighting Falcons earned a 28.30-26.65 win in the Acro event. All three pyramid teams scored north of a 9.70, with the open pyramid team of Izaria McWhorter-Martin, Barnes, Katy Koehl, seniors
Brionni Dowson and
Reghan Mollohan and
Brylee Knotts posting a 9.80. At halftime, Fairmont State led 95.00-87.95.

The 450 Salto toss team of Del Greco, Koehl, McWhorter-Martin, Knotts,
Alexa Wilson and Barnes began the second half with a 9.60 out of 9.90 possible points. The Falcons took the Toss event with a score of 27.95-26.30. Poyner and Del Greco paired up for the duo pass and scored a 9.100 out of 9.60 start value. Poyner completed a thrilling aerial pass for a 9.450 and
Zara Christophe completed the 6 element routine with a mark of 9.125. Koehl finished the tumbling event with an impressive 9.700 in her open pass routine.

The Fighting Falcons capped the meet off with a score of 90.94 in their team event. After the meet, eight senior A&T seniors were recognized for their contributions to the program. Barnes,
Emily Brock, Del Greco, Dowson,
Janai Jenkins,
Avery Keller, Mollohan and
Lauren Whittier all were celebrated for their remarkable careers at Fairmont State.
