FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WV News) — A 22-year-old man was found dead at the Fairmont Hills Apartments early Thursday morning in what police believe to be a drug-related homicide.

Fairmont Police Chief Steve Shine said that just before 3 a.m. Thursday morning, officers were dispatched to 788 Cleveland Avenue — also known as the Fairmont Hills Apartments — where they found the body of the victim.

Shine said that the death was an "apparent murder" and that the victim was not from the area.

He added that the suspect fled the scene.

"We believe that the murder is drug-related," Shine said.
