Fairland softball wins slow pitch district championship

The Lady Owls dominate their way to a slow pitch district title over Quapaw and Hulbert.

FAIRLAND, Ok. -- Fairland softball makes quick work of Quapaw and Hulbert en route to a 3A slow pitch district championship on Thursday.

The Lady Owls win 18-2 over Quapaw in their first game of the tournament, before taking down Hulbert 15-8 in the next contest.

Fairland then wins 10-0 against Hulbert in just five innings to lock up the district championship.

Katelyn Flud hits two home runs in the final game of the afternoon. She and Gracin Riggs hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning.

Fairland advances to regionals -- which is a double elimination tournament. The OSSAA will release regional assignments on Monday, April 22.
