Lady Eagles fall to Teague, 11-8; defeat Buffalo, 14-7

The Fairfield Lady Eagles fell to Teague and defeated Buffalo this past week to move to 12-11 overall and 5-5 in district play.

On Tuesday night, April 2, the Lady Eagles traveled to Teague and lost 11-8. The Lady Lions took an 8-0 lead after four innings of play.

Fairfield scored three runs in the fifth inning to make it an 8-3 game. However, Teague responded with three runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth to extend their lead to 11-3.

The Lady Eagles scored two runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Lions took the 11-8 home win.

Fairfield had nine hits on the night. Zadie McPherson and Cadence Webster each had two hits as Kennedy Lane, Madox Mitchael, Madelyn Morrison, Evelyn Fultz, and Cariss Capps each had a hit.

Alyssa Allen pitched four and two third innings as she gave up four hits and struck out six batters. Lane pitched one and one third innings as she gave up two hits.

The Lady Eagles traveled to Buffalo on Friday night, April 5, and took revenge on the Lady Bison as they brought home a 14-7 road win.

Fairfield had 19 hits on the night. Morrison led the way with four hits as Lane, and Capps had three each. Landry Bayless, Mitachel, and Fultz, had two each as Delaney McGowan, McPherson, and Allen each had one.

Allen pitched one inning and gave up one hit and struck out three batters. Lane pitched six innings and gave up eight hits.

Fairfield played Westwood on Tuesday night, April 9. The Lady Eagles will travel to Franklin on Friday, April 12, to take on the Lady Lions, before hosting the Elkhart Lady Elks on Tuesday, April 16, which will also be Senior Night
