Following inmate escaping Ray County Jail, Excelsior Springs School District increased security
FOR THE RIGHT INFORMATION. RIGHT NOW, POLICE ARE SEARCHING FOR AN ESCAPED INMATE IN RAE COUNTY. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS JUSTIN ROBINSON GOT OUT OF THE COUNTY JAIL AFTER ATTACKING A WORKER. BESIDES, DENNIS EVANS LIVE IN RAE COUNTY RIGHT NOW WITH THE VERY LATEST. DENNIS. YOU KNOW, DESPITE CALLING IN HELP FROM SEVERAL AGENCIES IN THE AREA, INCLUDING STATE POLICE AND HOMELAND SECURITY, THEY STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE LOCATE JUSTIN ROBINSON. BUT I SPOKE WITH THE SHERIFF OF RAE COUNTY TODAY AND HE SAID GETTING THIS VIOLENT OFFENDER OFF OF THE STREETS IS PRIORITY NUMBER ONE. IT WAS LATE LAST NIGHT WHEN TWO INMATES FROM THE RAE COUNTY JAIL DECIDED TO MAKE AN ESCAPE, BUT THAT WAS ONLY PART OF THE PLAN. THERE’S NO DOUBT AS TO DO INJURY TO THE GUARDS, THE INMATES USE SOME SORT OF HOMEMADE WEAPON TO STAB THE GUARD AND THEN BREAK FREE FROM THE JAIL. FOR ONE OF THE ESCAPEES, THE FREEDOM DID NOT LAST VERY LONG, RESPONDED THAT TIME AND SET UP A PERIMETER ACCORDINGLY. AND APPREHENDED ONE OF THE SUSPECTS. AND THE SECOND ONE, WE’RE STILL LOOKING FOR THAT SECOND ESCAPEE, A VIOLENT OFFENDER HAS EVADED OFFICERS SINCE LAST NIGHT WHILE HE WAS IN OUR JAIL, FOUR WAS STABBED. HIS PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND IN THE STOMACH. THAT HISTORY OF VIOLENCE CAUSED SCHOOLS IN THE AREA TO CLOSE FOR THE DAY AND SENT OFFICERS LOOKING FOR ANY CLUES ON WHERE JUSTIN ROBINSON COULD BE HIDING. WE’RE JUST GOING TO TAKE IT STEP BY STEP AND KEEP THE TIPS COMING IN AND HOPEFULLY VERY SOON WE’LL HAVE A MAP HANDED. NOW WE ARE AT THE RICHMOND POLICE DEPARTMENT, WHICH IS THE AREA WITH SO AS THE LAST TIME ROBINSON WAS BEING SEEN, WE SPOKE WITH THE SHERIFF AND HE SAID THAT THE GUARD WHO WAS INJURED LAST NIGHT, HE IS RECOVERING. THEY’VE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE REACHED OUT AND GIVEN TIPS. THEY SAID ROBINSON IS STILL ON THE STREETS. THEY DON’T BELIEVE HE’S STILL WEARING THE CLOTHES THAT HE WORE EARLIER. BUT THE DESCRIPTION IS THE SAME 511, ABOUT 180 885 POUNDS, HAS A NECK TATTOO. AND IF YOU SEE HIM, DEFINITELY REACH OUT TO POLICE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. Following inmate escaping Ray County Jail, Excelsior Springs School District increased security
After Justin Robinson escaped the Ray County Jail overnight Monday, the Excelsior Springs School District increased security and limited activity for students and staff. The district said they increased presence and safety protocols at all of the district’s schools on Tuesday. They also limited travel and students and staff stayed in the buildings throughout the day.. Shortly before 3 p.m., the district said the “danger in our district’ was cleared. “Our security team received confirmation from law enforcement late this afternoon that the danger in our district vicinity was clear,” the district said in a statement. “At that time we transitioned to a normal learning environment late in the day, in which you may have seen some students outside enjoying the weather for recess.”As of 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Robinson has not been captured yet by authorities. He’s accused of stabbing his pregnant girlfriend.
