Whitefish pays tribute on Memorial Day
Whitefish's Lion Mountain VFW Post 276 held its annual Memorial Day celebrations on Monday, May 27, 2024. The wreath dropping ceremony took place at the Veterans' Bridge and a touching service was held at the Whitefish Cemetery. The Whitefish High School band played several tunes and the VFW hosted a free community bar-b-que in the afternoon. Connect Whitefish is kicking off a summer long campaign to walk, bike, or roll to downtown Whitefish. The community benefits of human powered transportation are many including less traffic congestion, stronger sense of community, safer streets, and healthier habits. Safe streets for all taking action with events next week
There will be two opportunities to engage with the city of Whitefish’s Safe Streets for All Action Plan next week: Walk n’ Roll on Tuesday, June 4, and a city open house on Wednesday, June 5. The wait is over!Libby junior Ryan Beagle dominated on his way to the 2024 Montana High School Association Class A boys singles tennis championship Friday night in Kalispell.
