HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The city of Evansville has opened the C.K. Newsome Community Center as a cooling center for the public.

The community center will be open to the public to cool off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Water and other cooling supplies will be provided by the American Red Cross.

Other members can access water fountains and bottle filling stations, as well as cool down inside any of the Evansville-Vanderburgh Public Library locations during their regular hours.
