Lane closures coming to Lloyd Expressway this week as part of 'Lloyd4U' project

The next traffic disruption related to the massive, multi-year Lloyd4U project that will see changes along Evansville's Lloyd Expressway will unfold starting this week.

The Indiana Department of Transportation said that beginning as soon as Tuesday, the Lloyd Expressway will be one lane in each direction from just east of St. Phillips Road to east of University Parkway near the University of Southern Indiana.

The inside lanes will be closed to allow construction of crossovers that will be used in a future phase of The Lloyd4U project, INDOT said in a news release.

The closure is expected to last a month.

Between now and 2028, around 20 intersections will receive anything from minor work to thorough overhauls.
