A Eureka man facing multiple felony drug charges was sentenced recently in Lincoln County District Court.Shane Michael Coursey, 56, was first accused of possessing fentanyl, methamphetamine and Xanax after his arrest by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Huff in Libby on Jan. 24, 2023. On July 10, Coursey pleaded not guilty to three felonies and one misdemeanor count of possessing drug paraphernalia.Coursey’s original arraignment was set for Feb. 13, but his public defender, Ben Kolter said then that Coursey had been released from the county jail for medical reasons. On Thursday, March 28, student art entries for the 2024 Montana State Junior Duck Stamp Contest from across Montana were judged at Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge in Stevensville. The Junior Duck Stamp Program is a dynamic arts and science curriculum designed to teach youth about waterfowl and the habitat that they depend on. In addition to an original art entry, each student is encouraged to create a conservation message that explains what they have learned about wetlands, conservation, waterfowl and wildlife. LIBBY, Mont. — A Eureka man accused of running over a Montana Highway Patrol trooper with a vehicle in Lincoln County in February 2023 was found guilty on all counts. Jason Allen Miller, 41, is charged with attempted deliberate homicide, criminal endangerment, criminal mischief, possession of dangerous drugs and aggravated kidnapping.

HELENA, Mont. — The Montana Department of Agriculture will host spring pesticide disposal events Wednesday through Friday. The events are to ensure Montanans dispose of pesticide waste in a safe way that is also environmentally friendly. Since the program began in 1994, organizers collected 780,000 pounds of pesticide waste.
