KATC is reporting that a man is dead after a shooting Monday afternoon in Eunice.

According to an update from our media partners, 42-year-old Carl J. Vigers died from injuries suffered in the shooting.

Eunice Police Chief Kyle LeBouef says that Vigers was standing outside of an apartment complex near East Maple Avenue and South Beulah street when he was shot.

Vigers was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

KATC reports that there have been no arrests and no suspects have been listed at this time.

As police continue their investigation into the shooting, they are asking anyone with information to get in touch with Eunice Police or St. Landry Crime Stoppers.
