The path to Oregon baseball hosting a super regional once seemed highly unlikely, but in a major upset, Oral Roberts won the Stillwater regional.
The Ducks rank higher than them in RPI. So, Oregon could potentially play games at PK Park. First, they had to beat Xavier in the Nashville Regional Final.
After beating the Musketeers five times between this tournament and the regular season, the Ducks got it done again, winning 11-2 to clinch the Nashville Regional.
Sabin Ceballos started the scoring by crushing a home run in the fourth. Then the team exploded with 6 runs in the sixth to run away with the victory.
The Ducks will make their first appearance in the super regional since 2012.
But the location could be up in the air. The Eugene Emeralds are set to host Tri-City in a series from Tuesday through Sunday. Most super regionals will run from Friday to Sunday.
Emeralds General Manager Allan Benavides seemed to confirm his team would be on the move tweeting, "Pasco, here we come." But nothing has been made official as of yet.
