According to Eugene Springfield Fire's Facebook page, rescue crews located several individuals stranded on a rock after floating the river on "inappropriate water craft(s)," without wearing life vests.
The stranded individuals were removed from the rock and returned to Alton Baker launch without incident.
When our rivers are not respected and safety precautions are not taken, situations like these can end in tragedy.
ESF would like to remind the public to use only approved water craft and to wear life jackets on any waterway.
