A new way to get around Eugene is now available. Superpedestrian held a launch party for its fleet of e-scooters that will be available starting Friday.
Initially, 200 e-scooters will be available, with 600 total being rolled out over the next few months.
The launch party was held at EWEB's River Edge Public Plaza with various community members and icons in attendance. City councilor Alan Zelenka was in attendance, and former representative Peter DeFazio was also scheduled to make an appearance. The Eugene Emerald's mascot Sluggo, along with Slug Queen Sativa Slugsworth and Lady Liberty also showed up.
Scooters will be available throughout Eugene, and can be located through the Superpedestrian mobile app. They can be unlocked for $2, and cost 39 cents a minute while in use.
E-scooters for those with disabilities are also available, coming equipped with an adjustable chair.
