Eugene Police seized more than 20 grams of fentanyl Tuesday, March 28, while executing a search warrant in the 1700 block of Grove Street.
Officials say that Shelly Lee Hart, 51, was contacted by the Eugene Police Street Crimes Unit (SCU) on Tuesday. According to EPD, the SCU executed a search warrant at the Grove Street residence regarding weapons, drugs, and stolen property.
Prior to Tuesday's search, back in February 2022, a search warrant was executed for similar crimes. Since then, the police department received tips that activity at the residence resumed. Police say that several unreported overdose occurred at the home, creating an immediate need to stop narcotics distribution at the house.
EPD says during the search on March 28, police seized approximately 20 grams of fentanyl, 10 grams of methamphetamine, 5 grams of cocaine, packaging material, two firearms, one of which had been stolen, as well as stolen property from Jerry's Home Improvement. Police also seized evidence of manufacturing and delivery of drugs.
Hart is being charged with:
- Unlawful Manufacturing Controlled Substance Schedule II (fentanyl)
- Unlawful Delivery Controlled Substance Schedule II (fentanyl)
- Unlawful Possession Controlled Substance Schedule II (fentanyl) (CDO)
- Unlawful Possession Controlled Substance Cocaine (CDO)
- Unlawful Possession Controlled Substance Methamphetamine (CDO)
- Felon in Possession of a Firearm
- Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon
- Escape in the Third Degree
- Theft II - LCSO case 23-00835
The listed charges have been referred to the Lane County District Attorney's Office for Hart's prosecution. EPD says that the Lane County Sheriff's Office responded and took possession of property recovered in one of their cases (from Jerry's Home Improvement) and issued Hart a Citation in Lieu of Custody for Theft in the Second Degree under their related case number.
