Holi, the Indian festival of colors kicked off Saturday evening at the outdoor plaza at the Farmers Market Pavilion in Eugene.
Attendees showed up in their brightest whites in anticipation of the evenings color throw; to celebrate the festival of color.
Holi is a significant Hindu festival that welcomes in the Spring season.
This was the first public Holi festival in Eugene.
The festival boasted music, Bollywood dance lessons, as well as performances.
"The Holi festival, which is the festival of color, it's for families to come out and celebrate the coming of spring and that sort of explosion of color that we're all looking forward to," said Kate Ali, Public Art Manager for Cultural Services for the City of Eugene.
The color throw kicked off at 6 p.m., where attendees threw bright powdered colors in celebration of the holiday.
