Oregon women's basketball fifth-year guard Ahlise Hurst has a unique tattoo on her left arm.
It's the cheat code for ‘infinite ammo’ for the classic video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on PlayStation. Thursday night, Hurst's performance was better than a cheat code.
The Australian stepped up at just the right time for the Ducks in their third-round game against San Diego in the WNIT.
Hurst scored a team high 23 points including six three pointers in the 20-point victory over the Toreros as the Ducks move on to the quarterfinals.
"It's great! We needed it in January and February, too, but I'm just happy for them,” said Ducks head coach Kelly Graves. “I'm so happy for Ahlise; she's a hard worker, brings it every day in practice. To see her do that [Thursday] night was pretty cool. I'm really happy for her."
"I hit that pull-up three and was like, okay, this is gonna be a good night,” Hurst said after the game. “There's nothing better than that, but it all comes from my teammates and them hyping me up. Just keep shooting, that's what I do. I can't stop doing that."
Oregon will face the winner of Friday's game between Washington and Kansas State.
Game time for the quarterfinals will then be announced.
