Son of ex-Cleveland Cavs star named MaxPreps National Junior of Year
Cameron Boozer, the 16-year-old son of former NBA and Cleveland Cavs star Carlos Boozer, has been named the MaxPreps high school boys basketball National Junior of the Year. Boozer, a junior at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, averaged 22.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.1 blocks per game en route to leading the Explorers to winning the Florida 7A state title. In the state championship game, the 6-foot-9 forward recorded 24 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals as Columbus defeated Oak Ridge, 72-67, in overtime. Boozer also scored the game-tying dunk with eight seconds remaining in regulation, knotting the score at 57-57 to force overtime.
