UAF Kuskokwim Campus hosts 50th commencement ceremony
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - On May 7, The University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) Kuskokwim Campus recognized the class of 2024 for its 50th commencement ceremony at the Yupiit Piciryarait Cultural Center in Bethel. There were 36 graduates from communities across the state, including Tuluksak, Nunapitchuk, Kasigluk, Chevak and Hooper Bay.

Fort Wainwright soldier fatally shot outside Fairbanks bar
A Fort Wainwright soldier has died after he was shot early Saturday outside a downtown Fairbanks bar, with two suspects arrested in his death. According to Fairbanks police, Brandon Moultrie was shot in the parking lot of the Big I Bar at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, and died Sunday afternoon. Police spokeswoman Teal Soden said the suspected shooter, 21-year-old Shamar Snipes, was at the bar with 27-year-old Sharif Makkar.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - On Tues. Fairbanks North Star Borough residents voted on whether or not to raise the tax cap by $10 million to fund education. The unofficial results reported; 5,054 (31.68%) for YES and 10,896 (68.30%) for NO. There was a resounding NO voted for in 30 out of 32 precincts.
