Broening Highway interchange reopens May 15
The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) wanted you to be aware that the I-695/Broening Highway Interchange reopens Wednesday, May 15. Tolled access to Broening Highway and I-695 Outer Loop via turnaround resumes June 1. Access to Broening Highway is via existing turnaround from Inner Loop I-695, onto Outer Loop, to Broening Highway (Exit 44). Inner loop traffic destined for Broening Highway must use MD 151/North Point Boulevard (Exit 42) and follow detour to return to the Inner Loop. The last exit from the Inner Loop remains Exit 42. In addition, access to I-695 Outer Loop from Broening Highway will be open via existing turnaround. I-695 Outer Loop will be one lane through the I-695 Sparrows Point Project work zone. BALTIMORE (AP) — Incumbent Brandon Scott handily beat out one of his predecessors in Baltimore’s Democratic primary for mayor Tuesday, all but ensuring a second term in office. Scott was originally elected in 2020, when he also campaigned against former Mayor Sheila Dixon and won by a narrow margin. This was Dixon’s third attempt at returning to the mayor’s office after her tenure was cut short in 2010 after she took a plea deal for misappropriating gift cards meant for poor families. With his primary victory, Scott is now considered the prohibitive favorite in the November general election in the heavily Democratic city.
