By Zak Failla,
A spokesperson for the Baltimore County Police Department said that officers were called at approximately 11:10 a.m. on Monday, June 5, to the 900 block of Thompson Boulevard when concerned family members advised investigators that an armed man was a possible danger to either himself or the community.
Hostage negotiators and investigators from Harford County were all called to the residence, where there were reports of multiple shots fired by the man, though police have not responded, the spokesperson said.
According to officials, there was no one else in the residence as of 3 p.m. on Monday, and few details were released about the barricaded suspect.
No injuries have been reported.
It is unclear why the suspect barricaded himself inside the home, the spokesperson said, though there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The incident led to lockouts, then lockdowns at both Deep Creek Middle School and Sandalwood Elementary School Police say that all students are safe and they were dismissed on time, despite the standoff.
More details are expected to be released by the police later on Monday afternoon.
