Erie County Economic Development Corporation announces new members, officers

The Erie County Economic Development Corporation, a nonprofit based in Sandusky, conducted its first meeting of 2023 and welcomed the new members to the Board of Directors and appointing Board Officers.

The Board of Directors has appointed four new members, according to a news release.

They are John Kridelbaugh, Spencer Patterson, Jim Spicer and Ben Moncher.

• Kridelbaugh is the general manager of Tandem Media Network as well as group advertising director for five Ogden properties in Ohio.

Currently living in Sandusky, Kridelbaugh has been involved in the media business in various capacities for more than 30 years in seven different media markets.

• Patterson is a quality supervisor at Ardagh Metal Packaging and serves as co-chair of the Minority Business Empowerment Team, a grassroot collaborative organization, helping to provide resources and opportunities to minority businesses in the Greater Sandusky area.

• Moncher, a certified public accountant, is the chief financial officer of Janotta & Herner. an alum of St. Mary Central Catholic and a lifelong resident of Sandusky, where he currently resides with his wife and two daughters.

• Spicer joined Firelands Health in 2004 as a clinical pharmacist and currently serves as vice president of operations and chief administrative officer.

He serves on several community, regional and state boards and actively promotes health and wellness throughout the Firelands Health service area.

The Erie County Economic Development Corporation and its clients appreciate the commitment and support of these highly knowledgeable and
experienced professionals to help set the direction of the organization and ways to best support area business development.

At this meeting of the Board of Directors, the nominations were accepted and approved to serve as officers of the Erie County Economic Development Corporation.

The 2023 Officers are as follows: Andrew Kurtz, president; Stuart Wells, vice president; Mary Jane Hill, secretary; and Treasurer, Daniel Moncher, treasurer.

At this meeting, Abbey Bemis, executive director, and staff presented the Executive Director’s Report highlighting the accomplishments of 2022 and goals for 2023.

And 2022 was a strong year for program growth with hundreds of clients served through the Erie County Economic Development Corporation office.

The mission statement of the Erie County Economic Development Corporation is to grow economic opportunities for individuals and businesses and facilitate the creation and retention of jobs through collaborative and comprehensive economic development programs.

The strategic plan goals are to: assist new and existing businesses; attract new businesses; new and small business development; engage educational institutions on career development initiatives; foster regional workforce development and talent attraction; and engage in public discussion on economic development issues.
