Enfield police locate robbery suspect after they fled into the woods

ENFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) – Enfield police utilized drones and K9 units to locate a robbery suspect after they ran into the woods early Saturday morning.

Police were alerted to a robbery in progress at 12:37 a.m. Saturday morning where the suspect was last seen running into a nearby wooded area.

When officers arrived they established a perimeter and launched a drone while waiting for a K9 unit to arrive. The drone pilot located a heat signature near where the suspect was last seen.

The suspect’s movement was tracked by the drone pilot and K9 officer Dunkin tracked them to a location where the officers would have a good vantage point.

At 1:10 a.m., the suspect was ordered out of the woods and was placed under arrest.
