Cameron County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Port Allegany Gators 9-8. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cameron County also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Brockway couldn't quite beat Johnsonburg on Monday, but the two-run margin was a huge improvement compared to the 15-run defeat they were dealt last Friday. Several farm animals killed when fire engulfs barn in Westport
The Westport Fire Department said Tuesday that some animals were killed in a barn fire. The fire on Sodom Road was reported at about 7 a.m. The fire department said the town highway surveyor saw the smoke and called 911. He and the homeowners tried to save livestock in the barn.

Leo and nine others lost their lives during a training accident in Selman, Louisiana “when two navigation training planes collided in mid-air five miles northwest of Farmerville and plummeted to earth in flames,” The News-Star of Monroe, Louisiana reported on January 25, 1944.
