The Baker Middle School softball team won its circuit championship tournament after playoffs on May 11 at Fruitland, Idaho. The Bulldogs were the top seed, earning a first round bye before taking on the Payette Pirates and beating them 14-3. Then Bulldogs played the Fruitland Grizzlies, and took them out 20-12 in the championship game.

A far-right challenger is leading against the Idaho House Education Committee chair in Tuesday’s primary, preliminary election results show. Caldwell resident Kent Marmon had received nearly 57% of the vote for District 11 Seat A, according to results as of 11:57 p.m. Tuesday. Incumbent Julie Yamamoto had earned 43% of the vote, or 1,455 ballots cast in her favor.
