Elmira College holds 2024 graduation ceremony

ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) — Around 140 students walked in Elmira college’s 166th graduation ceremony today.

Some students are receiving their master’s in business and education, while the majority are graduating with a bachelor’s in nursing, education, art, and science. A few graduating students already know what careers they wish to pursue.

Graduate Candice Terpolilli, who majored in nursing said, “I already do have a job lined up that I plan on taking. Nurses are in great need right now, there’s a huge nursing shortage. Almost all of us nursing majors have jobs lined up. I want to go on and get my nurse practitioner, and I just really want to help people.”

Nicholas Domitrovic, who played hockey for Elmira College from 2020 to 2024, majored in business administration.

“Feels really good to accomplish this goal, especially with being my first year in COVID and kind of having to go through that for a year. Now it really means a lot to be able to finish my degree and get my diploma today,” said Domitrovic

“I feel like I’ve been set up great with Elmira College to be able to kind of find work and honestly, I played sports and I’m hoping to play pro hockey in Europe next year. I’ve been fortunate enough to have that opportunity and Elmira College is a huge reason for that.”
