Who doesn’t love to spend a beautiful weekend afternoon perusing classic engines while sipping a handcrafted cocktail? The perfect opportunity to do so will be waiting for you at 5462 Robbins Road in Ellicottville on Sunday, June 25th from 10:00am-3:00pm when the Ellicottville Distillery hosts their 3rd Annual Classic Car Show.

When ellicottvilleNOW spoke to co-owner Renee Scharf about the event, she was quick to let us know that this year will be better than ever! “Every year it’s grown bigger and bigger… we hope that continues and everyone has a great time.”

The Classic Car Show is family friendly (even pets can come!) and event-goers will be treated to a well-manicured venue. Stroll through the grounds and take in the display of muscle cars, antiques and classics of all kinds. If you’d like to display your classic, it’s just a $15 registration fee! Cars will be awarded trophies for placing 1st in a number of categories. There will also be a 50/50 and a few other raffles for guests to participate in.

The Distillery itself will be open to provide their signature cocktails and spirits (and a few new ones!) Their new summer menu boasts some fabulous options. If you’re a vodka drinker, the Spiced Dice can show you a good time with peppercorn, basil, lemon and watermelon. Or maybe you are into something that’s more on the sweet side? The Steam Crest can be your jam, with the Distillery’s Maple Bourbon Creme, vanilla and cream soda. Their famous slushee machine will be rocking all afternoon as well. Owner Bryan Scharf and his team have a drink to suit everyone, including non-alcoholic options for the littles and the non-drinkers in the family.

One too many? Soak up the alcohol with a trip to the on-site food truck. The Ramcore Truck is venturing out to the Ellicottville Distillery and will serve up their Italian Sausage, Philly Cheese Steaks, curly fries and the ever popular loaded fries for car show enthusiasts - perfect food to go with anything you may be drinking at the event. (Who doesn’t love an expertly crafted steak and cheese sandwich?) And let’s not forget about the entertainment. It wouldn’t be an event without some live music. Popular acoustic duo The Chillbillys will be playing all your favorite tunes from 2:00-5:00pm. They cover many genres and are always striving to cater to what the crowd wants to hear - from background music to dance party jams. They play all over WNY and are a local favorite.

IT’S ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE

The Distillery is known for all the good causes that their events support and the car show is no different. Proceeds from the 3rd annual Classic Car Show will be donated to Oishei Children’s Hospital. Renee said, “We chose them because our daughter was born extremely early and spent her first 72 days there. The staff there is amazing and they made such a scary situation a better one. We are so thankful for everything they do and giving them support is the least we can do.”

Looking ahead, the Distillery has an impressive line-up of events in the works. Their next big event is the E.A.R.S Critter Cruise Dice Run that supports the Empire Animal Rescue Society, June 17th. The Distillery is the last stop on the run, where food, entertainment and awards will be presented. The following day (Sunday), will be the start of the Summer Sundays live music series. The first performance will be by another local favorite, Meet the Bacons. Joe and Robin Bacon are an acoustic husband and wife duo that play a variety of rock, country, Americana, folk, blues and reggae in WNY. (Fun fact: The couple is also part of the 4-piece band, “The Restless Soles” and the 4-piece Celtic Rock band, “Poor Old Goat.)

Keep your eye out for other upcoming events such as the Annual Pig Roast in July and their 4th Annual Distilled & Chilled Music Festival in August. All of these great events, in one great place!
