Elk River senior Elias Boudinot earned national recognition with a gold medal for his stoneware sculpture titled “Entrapped.” The artwork was created as part of an AP portfolio.
“Entrapped” was designed to bring awareness to mental health issues.
The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers announced the national winners of the 2023 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7-12.
More than 320,000 works of art and writing were submitted for adjudication at the regional level in the Awards’ 28 categories, which include poetry, painting, architecture, short story, fashion design and more. Less than 1% were recognized at the national level.
