The Ohio Pie Stop That Built Its Name On Perfect Crusts
A small bakery in Dayton, Ohio, has people willingly driving more than an hour just for a single slice of pie, and somehow that still does not feel like an overstatement. The crust has built a loyal following all by itself, and the lineup ranges from classic fruit pies to a Buckeye pie that sounds almost unfairly tempting.

UC's dance team went TikTok viral. Now, it's going to worlds
All eyes were on the University of Cincinnati dance team during its electric hip-hop routine at the 2026 Universal Dance Association College Dance Team National Championship in January. The Bearcats pulled out all the stops, from difficult dance moves to a music mashup and, most importantly, their jaw-dropping light-up shirts , which partially led to their virality and a third-place finish. "The formations!! The tricks, the DANCE moves, the difficulty, the shirts changing colors, the music/mix, 10/10. A first place routine if you ask me," a TikTok user commented. Multiple videos of the squad had over 1 million views. The Bearcats first learned their hip-hop routine, which GRV, a Los Angeles-based dance crew, helped choreograph, in October 2025. But the light-up shirts became a work in progress shortly before the team left for nationals, head coach Courtney Dang, who was part of the UC dance team herself from 2013 to 2017 , said. The origin story of the viral light-up shirts Making the light-up shirts was anything but easy. It took a lot of craft nights, engineering and some love from parents. Originally, the shirts were supposed to have a hockey puck-shaped light, with Dang describing the initial look as

New Lunken venue aiming for old glory, but will it have grilled cheese?
For nearly 90 years, Greater Cincinnatians flocked to the Sky Galley restaurant at Lunken Airport to dine, drink and watch airplanes come and go. With work finally underway to restore Lunken's shuttered terminal, Sky Galley will live again, albeit under a yet-to-be revealed name. Developer Guy van Rooyen is aiming for a high-end look and feel for the space, akin to Coppin's and Knowledge, the venues in his Hotel Covington project. "We expect this to be a very high-end facility," he said during a tour of the now-gutted East End building. That was Sky Galley, once upon a time. In 1953, then-owner John "Ollie" Swartz was serving lobster tail, flown in from South Africa, for $2.50 a plate, a Cincinnati Post story reported. When people can finally fly to the moon, the Post predicted, many "are going to enjoy having a last meal before leaving at Sky Galley." In 1958, T-bone steaks and organist Ruth Nagel won attention in an Enquirer story. Of note, part-owner and retired Cincinnati Reds pitcher Rube Bressler employed "10 attractive waitresses" for diners' enjoyment, The Enquirer reported. By 2019, Sky Galley was more of a spot for sandwiches and salads – but still popular enough

Best Restaurants No. 3: Sotto
There’s nothing quite like Sotto, the Boca Restaurant Group’s pasta-forward speakeasy. Getting there is an adventure. It’s easy to overlook and difficult to find if you don’t already know the way, but beside Boca’s red door, a staircase leads below street level. This Ohio BBQ Joint Sells Out So Fast People Line Up Before Sunrise
Ohio has a funny habit of hiding unforgettable meals where the roads get quieter, and the appetite gets louder. I followed the rumor of a barbecue spot that draws a crowd before most people have finished their first cup of coffee, and by the time I stepped out of the car, the smoky air alone had me acting like I had made the best decision of the week.
