UPDATE: The vehicle has been recovered and the suspect has been identified.
The Elberta Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a stolen vehicle and identifying a possible suspect.
On Friday (3/24/23) at approximately 7:14 pm, Elberta Police received a call that a vehicle had just been stolen from the Big Country gas station located at the intersection of County Road 87 and County Road 32. The victim advised he arrived in the gas station and was inside for approximately five minutes when he came out and found his vehicle missing.
Surveillance video shows that the individual shown in the photo above, entered the vehicle and drove away westbound on County Road 32.
The suspect is described as a white or possibly Hispanic male, approximately 6 feet tall and 200 lbs. The male had a full beard and was wearing a white dress shirt, black pants and brown dress shoes. It is possible the suspect was carrying a dress or suit coat at the time.
The vehicle is described as a 2005 Infinity QX 56. The vehicle was recently purchased and did not have a license plate attached. There is an American Flag sticker on the rear of the vehicle.
