Female Ejected, 3 Total Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash in El Rio

EL RIO, Calif., Dec. 10 (KNN) — A single-vehicle crash into a ditch early Sunday morning, left a total of three occupants injured with one of those occupants found ejected from the vehicle.

California Highway Patrol’s Ventura County officers responded to numerous reports around 1:48 a.m. of a vehicle in a ditch with a female laying in the roadway on Central Avenue between Rose and Santa Clara Avenues in the unincorporated town of El Rio.

A female in the vehicle also reported to 911 that her friend ”fell out” of the car when they hit a dip.

When officers arrived on scene, they located the female in the roadway and immediately began first aid. Two additional occupants, a male and a female, were still inside the vehicle with the male trapped.

The ejected female in the roadway was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.

The trapped male was eventually extricated and transported to the hospital in unknown condition, and the second female was transported with minor injuries.

CHP’s Ventura Office is handling the investigation into the cause of the crash.
