A man accused of breaking into a home in northeast El Paso reportedly told one of the victims he was "possessed by the devil," according to court documents.
Police arrested Tristin Billingsley following the burglary on Regulus Drive near Railroad Drive and McCombs Street on May 29.
Billingsley reportedly punched a glass door of a home while a couple was inside.
The husband told police he woke up to a loud crash and went to see what was going on when he saw Billingsley attempting to get through the door.
The man said he tried to stop Billingsley from getting inside when Billingsley punched him in the face three times, according to court documents.
Police arrived at the home and found Billingsley in the backyard and took him into custody at 2:31 a.m.
Billingsley was booked into jail on a $30,000 bond.
He was released on June 1 after posting a surety bond.
