On Tuesday, officials with the Edmond Police Department say they were able to identify the dump truck driver.
The driver returned to the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Authorities say the driver is adamant that he had no idea he hit the power lines.
“It appears to be an honest mistake. At this time, he hasn’t received a citation, but the officer is still investigating,” police told KFOR.

EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) – Police in Edmond are searching for a driver who is responsible for cutting off power to hundreds of Edmond residents.
Authorities say the lights went out on Monday when a dump truck driver hit several power lines near 33rd and Rankin.

At this point, investigators say they are searching for the driver, who may face charges of leaving the scene of an accident.
