Commissioners Continue Budget Work During Tuesday Meeting
SWEETWATER COUNTY – The Sweetwater County commissioners continue grappling with the budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year and will host two budget reviews Tuesday afternoon. The commissioners will host a workshop scheduled to take place at 1 p.m., planning to review the upcoming fiscal year’s funding requests and capital funding requests.
Final Wyoming High School Girls Soccer Standings 2024
The high school girls' soccer season in Wyoming came to an end last weekend in Sweetwater County. Congratulations to the 4A state champion Kelly Walsh Trojans and the 3A state champion Lander Tigers. Incumbents Face Challengers in Several Political Races
SWEETWATER COUNTY – Two days into the campaign filing season and contests for local and state offices have already developed. According to information on the Sweetwater County Clerk’s website, Green River City Council member George Jost faces a challenge from Jessica Maser for his Ward II seat on the Council. Sherry Bushman, the current Council member representing Ward I, is unopposed so far in her re-election bid. No one has filed for the Ward III Council seat in Green River. Additionally, the clerk’s office has not received filings from Rock Springs, Wamsutter, Superior and Granger candidates seeking election to the Councils in those locations.
Sweetwater County Shines Bright at State Track and Field Championships
CASPER – Athletes from Sweetwater County showcased their talent at the Wyoming State Track and Field Championships held at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper over the weekend. Green River High School, Rock Springs High School, and Farson-Eden High School delivered commendable performances, with a total of 21 top-eight finishes across various events in the 4A and 1A competitions.
