With Third Future charter school network having fulfilled its goal of turning Ector Middle School around, Ector County ISD plans to take it back into the fold July 1, 2024. Under Third Future, the campus is called Ector College Prep. As of July 1, 2024, every employee will be part of ECISD and follow its compensation system and school year. The 29th year of the Empty Stocking Fund has a $100,000 goal to meet the needs in our community. The Fund helps families who are struggling to make ends meet. Many are single moms and grandmothers trying to raise family in tough economic times. Funds donated to the Empty Stocking stay in Ector County and help local families like that of Claire.

A 17-year-old Odessa resident was arrested Friday after being accused of raping a girl who just turned 7-years-old.
