    UPDATE: Investigators determine suspect wanted for Madison attempted homicide has left Eau Claire

    Eau Claire police searching for a man wanted in shooting incident

    The Eau Claire Police Department has determined that Jerome Jacobs is no longer in the Eau Claire area.

    The update was provided around 6:56 p.m. on their Facebook page.

    They thank the public for their tips and assistance.

    EAU CLAIRE (WKBT) -- Police in Eau Claire are lifting the shelter-in-place recommendation after extensive searches have not located Jerome Jacobs.

    The public is asked to remain vigilant and to contact police with any information on Jacobs whereabouts.

    According to an incident report from the Madison Police Department, Jacobs is wanted for a shooting incident Sunday that injured two people near Trafalger Place and Andrew Way.

    Police found two people with gunshot wounds and vehicles hit with gunfire. Callers reported as many as 20 shots fired.

    One of the victims was treated and released, the other is in critical condition.

    Jacobs was seen by police in Eau Claire Tuesday. Jacobs allegedly crashed his vehicle and ran away when police tried to pull him over.

    EAU CLAIRE (WKBT) -- Police have identified a suspect in an active incident in Randall Park.

    In an update, the ECPD shared an image and identified the suspect as Jerome Jacobs.

    In phone call with News 8 Now, Eau Claire Police said Jacobs is currently wanted in connection with a Madison shooting incident.

    He was last seen wearing all blue. Jacobs fled on foot, according to police.

    Jacobs is potentially armed, police said.

    The public is asked to avoid this area, or shelter in place if you are there currently. Police say if you see Jacobs, do not approach him and contact authorities immediately.

    EAU CLAIRE (WKBT) -- Police are responding to "an active situation" in Eau Claire's Randall Park neighborhood.

    In a post to Facebook, the ECPD asks the public to avoid the area or shelter in place as they respond to an unspecified incident.
