Eatonville football player Ky Nation voted WaFd Bank Washington High School Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to Eatonville wide receiver Ky Nation for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Washington High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 18-Sept. 23!

This junior speedster has a knack for making big plays - and did in the team's non-league 36-6 victory over Bellevue Christian. On the second play of the game, Nation took a pass from Hunter Klumpar and dashed 95 yards for a touchdown. He caught two more scores (38, 54 yards) - and finished with four receptions for a career-high 205 yards.

Nation received 70.1% of the vote, beating out Lake Stevens WR David Brown, who finished second with 21.1% .

WASHINGTON NOMINEES

Brock Berger, Deer Park football : Hauled in nine passes for 207 yards and four touchdowns, including the game-winning 4-yard score in the fourth quarter in a non-league win at Omak.

David Brown, Lake Stevens football : In a loss to Oregon powerhouse West Linn, this speedster was all over the field - six catches, 101 yards and three touchdowns, plus a pair of interceptions on defense.

Jason Brown Jr., O'Dea football : Making his weekly appearance on this list, the senior's top senior running back posted season-best performances against Seattle Prep - 339 rushing yards and four touchdowns in a 3A Metro win.

Houston Coyle, La Center football : Going across the mountains, Coyle put on a show - rushing for three touchdowns (and 67 yards), passing for a score (and 149 yards), returning a kickoff 60 yards for a touchdown and picking off two passes in a win over Connell.

Payton Davis, Oakesdale girls volleyball : The senior outside hitter for the two-time defending Class 1B champions came up big in a five-set win over ACH - 32 kills and 19 digs. Also had 22 kills in sweep of St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse.

Parker Mady, Curtis football : A big reason why the Vikings upended then-No. 3 Emerald Ridge at home, totaling 246 all-purpose yards, including a 75-yard punt return for a touchdown. Also had 10 catches for 168 yards and a pair of scores.

Leyton Martin, Arlington football : In convincing win over Ferndale in 3A Wesco showdown, Eagles signal caller was efficient - 14-of-20 for 264 yards and four touchdowns in leading team to 4-0 start.

Rory Murry, Auburn Riverside girls soccer : University of Wyoming commit made a whopping 16 saves and booted a ball over the entire Kennedy Catholic defense for the game-winning assist in the Ravens' 2-1 victory.

Sophia Rodriguez, Mercer Island girls cross country : Just a ninth grader, the Islanders' runner became the first girl in the state to break the 17-minute mark - 16:49.8 - in winning the 5-kilometer title at the Mook XC Invite at Alderbrook.

Ty Webster, Sammamish football : Senior was a workhorse for the Totems - a career-high 318 rushing yards, four touchdowns on 34 carries - in a loss to Sultan. He has three 200-rushing games this season.

Brielle Wilson, Mead girls volleyball : The Panthers' senior setter was on point in later-week matches against Gonzaga Prep, Ridgeline and Post Falls - 114 assists in 12 sets - including a career-high 51 assists in a five-set loss to Post Falls (ID).
