Changing the Zoning for most of Seattle
We should get rid of minimum lot sizes in the city. As long as a builder adheres to other regulations they should be free to build small-lot homes, like row houses or skinny houses. Some people will still want bigger lots. But it is quite likely this would give a lot more people the opportunity to own both a home and the land under it.

For Executives Relocating to Seattle, the Neighborhood Question Comes Last
Executives relocating to the Seattle area often arrive with a neighborhood already in mind, chosen from a map, a colleague’s suggestion or a list of top-ranked zip codes. Many end up somewhere else. The region’s housing choices divide less by price than by daily experience, and those differences are hard to judge from a distance.

San Juan Island home offers idyllic coastal escape on a windswept shore
Heliotrope Architects designed this cedar-clad family vacation home on San Juan Island, Washington, along a windswept shoreline exposed to weather coming down the Strait of Juan de Fuca from the Pacific Ocean.
