SAN FRANCISCO – Two Ohio bakeries were named among the best for doughnuts in the United States, according to new rankings from Yelp.
The two shops – one in Eastlake and one in Centerville – made the Top 100 US Donut Shops 2023, as released by Yelp in celebration of National Donut Day on June 2.
Biagio’s Donut Shop & Pizzeria in Eastlake ranked 29th on Yelp’s Top 100 doughnut shop rankings. The store has a 4.5/5 star rating among 282 Yelp reviews. Among those 282 Yelp reviews, nearly 94% of reviewers gave Biagio’s a five- or four-star rating, including 232 five-star ratings and 33 four-star ratings.
Biagio’s, which doesn’t have a website, is located at 35523 Vine Street and is open seven days per week.

Bill’s Donut Shop in Centerville – about 20 minutes south of Dayton – ranked 37th on Yelp’s doughnut rankings list. The shop has a 4.5/5 star rating among 719 Yelp reviews. Among those 719 Yelp reviews, nearly 90% awarded Bill’s Donut Shop a five- or four-star rating, including 569 five-star ratings and 76 four-star ratings.
Established in 1960 in downtown Dayton, Bill’s Donut Shop has moved five times in its history, but has been at its current 268 N Main Street location since 1979, according to the shop’s website. Bill’s Donut Shop is open 24 hours per day and its menu features a range of donuts, pastries and beverage options for customers.

Yelp compiled its Top Donut Shops rankings using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of review between Jan. 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023. All businesses were open according to Yelp as of May 1, and all businesses also have a passing health score as of May 1, when available.
