Giants cut three large checks on Thursday

As the New York Giants continue OTAs this week at their headquarters in East Rutherford, some of the players they inked to lucrative contracts this past offseason will begin to reap the benefits of those deals via bonus checks.

On Thursday, quarterback Daniel Jones, nose tackle Dexter Lawrence and linebacker Bobby Okereke will all see a major boost to their bank accounts.

The contract numbers as reported by Spotrac:

Jones was signed to a four-year, $160 million deal which included a $36 million signing bonus with $92 million guaranteed and an average annual base salary of $40 million.

Jones’ 2023 numbers are as follows: a base salary of $9.5 million with a workout bonus of $500k while carrying a cap hit of $21.75 million and a dead cap value of $82 million.

Lawrence was signed to a four-year, $87.5 million contract which includes a $22 million signing bonus, $60 million guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $21.875 million.

Lawrence’s 2023 numbers are as follows: a base salary of $2,253 million, while carrying a cap hit of $6.653 million and a dead cap value of $46.5 million.

Okereke was signed to a four-year, $40 million contract which includes a $12 million signing bonus, $2.8 million guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $10 million.

Okereke’s 2023 numbers are as follows: a base salary of $1.9 million and a workout bonus of $100k, while carrying a cap hit of $5 million and a dead cap value of $21.8 million.
