East Ridge looking for suspect who fled from police station after arrest
They believe Joseph Osterlund stole a resident's vehicle to make his escape
EAST RIDGE, Tennessee (WDEF) – East Ridge Police are still looking for a suspect who escaped as he was heading to jail on Thursday.
Police tell us they stopped Joseph Osterlund for a traffic violation and found he had warrants out from Bradley County.
They say they also found 11-hundred tablets of fentanyl in his vehicle.
Officers took him to the police department, but as they were walking him out, he slipped out of his cuffs and ran for it.
Police say he found a vehicle outside a house four blocks away with the keys in it and escaped.
That vehicle is a 2007 Mazda CX-9 with a Tennessee plate of NCC892.
Osterlund is now wanted for escape, auto theft, drug charges and probation violations in Bradley County.
