The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man for an incident that occurred on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 11:45 am in Hicksville. According to Detectives, Officers responded to AAAA-1 Towing located at 34 Charlotte Avenue for an auto accident. Upon police arrival, officers observed a stolen Black 2023 Dodge Durango had struck a utility pole and driver had fled scene.
Smithtown Department of Public Safety honors outstanding officers and promotes peace officers
On May 15, the Town of Smithtown Department of Public Safety and Town Officials honored department members during the annual ceremony, which is held during National Police Week every year. Awards were presented to nine Public Safety officers for exceptional dedication and commitment to the job. After a thorough investigation was conducted, two employees, Defendants Carlos Hernandez, 35, of 25-107 71st Avenue, Bellerose and Hugo Ayala, 23, of 4 Nassau Boulevard, Malverne were arrested without incident.
