With an ambitious strategic plan and 40 years of successful programming under its belt, Flying Cloud Institute (FCI) continues to inspire young people and educators and ignite creativity while increasing access to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) learning through school residencies, after-school MakerSpaces, S•M•Art Labs and Girls Science Clubs, and summer, winter, and spring break programs. Owner of Northern Steel Buildings and Structures in Lee sentenced to eight to 10 years in state prison on larceny charges
Berkshire County — Fred Senter, 42 of Pittsfield has been sentenced in Berkshire Superior Court to eight to 10 years in state prison for multiple charges of larceny. Previously back in June 2022, the Berkshire County District Attorney’s office indicted Senter of 48 separate indictments alleging that he stole more than $400,000 through false pretenses.

Pine Plains Central School District Voters Approve 2024–25 Budget
Residents of the Pine Plains Central School District passed the Board of Education’s $37.6-million 2024–25 budget on May 21 by a vote of 285 to 106. Of the estimated 6,713 eligible voters, 6% turned out, approving all propositions, including the purchase of three school buses for a total of $461,970 – and the three BOE candidates, who ran unopposed.
