    Slow Cooker Chicken Marsala Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • - 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    • - 1 teaspoon salt
    • - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • - 1 teaspoon dried thyme
    • - 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • - 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
    • - 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • - 1 cup Marsala wine
    • - 1/2 cup chicken broth
    • - 2 tablespoons cornstarch
    • - 2 tablespoons water
    • - 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional, for a creamier sauce)
    • - Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

    Instructions:

    1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and dried thyme on both sides.

    2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown. Transfer the seared chicken to the slow cooker.

    3. In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes, until the mushrooms are softened and the garlic is fragrant.

    4. Pour the Marsala wine into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Allow the wine to simmer for 2-3 minutes, reducing slightly.

    5. Add the chicken broth to the skillet and stir to combine. Pour the mushroom and wine mixture over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.

    6. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir this into the slow cooker mixture.

    7. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until the chicken is tender and cooked through.

    8. If you prefer a creamier sauce, stir in the heavy cream during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

    9. Once the chicken is fully cooked, taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if needed. Serve the chicken breasts topped with the Marsala sauce and mushrooms.

    10. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

This Slow Cooker Chicken Marsala is a delicious, hands-off way to enjoy a classic Italian dish with rich, savory flavors. Perfect for a cozy dinner, this dish is sure to impress without the need for hours in the kitchen!

I have a cockpit that sears first then can be put on low or high to cook what time you want. No dirtying a frying pan. Everything done in the crockpot.
