Notre Dame player makes incredible goal in lacrosse national title game

Notre Dame won its first men's lacrosse NCAA championship on Monday in a 13-9 win over Duke. The win was highlighted by an unreal make by Quinn McCahon from past midfield in the second quarter.

ESPN's Sportscenter had other angles of the incredible make.

The goal put Notre Dame up 6-1 and while Duke made the game competitive at 8-7 later on, that would be the closest the Irish would allow the Blue Devils to get.

Attacker Chris Kavanagh made it 9-7 with 0.6 seconds remaining in the third.

Goalie Liam Entenmann made several outstanding saves for Notre Dame and midfielder Eric Dobson scored what ended up being the winning goal that gave the Irish a 10-7 lead with 10:50 remaining in the game.

McCahon scored Notre Dame's final goal when he put the Irish up 13-8. It's fitting that he capped the scoring after making the most memorable goal of the game earlier with his midfield shot.

For Notre Dame, the national title is the second for the program in 2023. The university's fencing team won its third straight title in March.

It also marks the seventh sport Notre Dame has won a national title in, following championships in football, men's and women's soccer, men's tennis and men's cross country.
